Poor man's graded card case? $12.99

Beat this price MBMiller25 LOL!

I saw these at The Home Depot here in Canada (yes there is only one), it's NOT the drop it off a building type cases MBMiller25 was selling (these are standard tool box plastic) but it seemed like 3 rows would fit nicely and the bottom mould was flat so the cards wouldn't go wonky. Metal latches, large handle, and small spot for a lock. Might be a decent pick up for those that just want something you can grab and run if need be but don't want to spend hundreds or just to keep the collection dry and dust free.

I would assume they are also in the States or soon to be sold in US stores.

Okay so I bought one, figured I have a million tools I could use it for if it doesn't work out.

So, they are stackable, the front clips are aluminum which is nice, big handle, tool box gauge plastic but because of the design (the way it is molded) it strengthens the box quite a bit so it feels stronger than a basic tool box. It comes with an inside tray which obviously you wouldn't use, looks like 4 cards across would be fine. Even bagged you could probably do 4 across if you cut out the part of the mould that was mean't to support the tray (4 small strip columns), you could always 3 across with a foam filler between rows, I didn't wipe the box clean.. what you see is a little Home Depot dust.

Overall, for $12 it's a steal if it even remotely works imo. Right now, I have a lot of cards in the cardboard Graded Card Boxes (3 rows), which are decent but they get dinged easily, are heavy and suck in moisture. I can see these cases stacking well in a safe (ie maybe like when I go on vacation or something).

I bought this one in Canada so I'm not sure what you guys have locally but here's the UPC 731161029813, kind of funny but Made In Israel ...for all the China haters.

Just went to my local Home Depot. They did not have the exact same box here on Long Island as they do in Canada. There were a couple different sizes, but I bought the smallest. The cost was $6.97. It will fit ~100 slabbed cards, which will be perfect for me. It was the last one they had. If I like it I'll go back and get a couple more. It's a good size to store "player sets".

They had a HOME DEPOT ugly Orange one as well for $8.97. It was bigger, but the plastic was not as strong so I went with the "Workforce" brand.

Here is the one sold in the USA that I bought.

VLAD ... thanks for the info!

BTW ... just started putting the cards in the box. If you put 1.25" thick foam between the rows (3 pieces of foam in total ... one end has no foam. If you use 1" thick foam you can fit an extra piece of foam on the other end as well) you can fit 33-34 cards per row ... 3 rows total ... which will give you about 100 cards per case.

JR ... is the plastic strong enough to hold the cards? I'd guess you can fit about 150 cards in that box. When you fill it up LMK how many cards fit ... how many rows ... and if the plastic is sturdy after the cards are in the box.
