Mein Gott, where did these bids come from and wonder who the buyers were?
6613 USD for a proof double florin has got to be a record for the denomination by a factor of three I'm guessing.
I just can not see even half that for a price, but who am I?
3k+ for the 6d! Yikes!
I guess we have gotten used to Jub crowns going for stupid prices but even that 4k a bit high. I not long ago
saw a 64 dcam of this date that under all lighting and mag. 5x-30k check showed possibly MINIMAL hairlines
that I would have easily graded 66 - would that coin be worth only 25% of this value? I think not.

I think of the PL64 (in PCGS 64) 1893 Jubilee Head of excessive rarity and condition for that matter not long ago
sold for some 8k, now which would you rather have?

I wasn't put off by the matte set at 20k as I think that is the true value of those coins. I was NOT the buyer and
did not even bid in the sale. Whew, been saving a lot of money lately!

OK, well I haven't had my coffee yet, so will part for now.

I agree, I didn't think the 1951 Matte set was bad at that price, but the 1887 proofs were really over the top. They were very nice coins mind you bu mostly went for double what I thought would have been reasonable.
