First time poster; credit the SCP auction for luring me here

Glad to be apart of this forum. Long story short, I was deep into collecting cards as a kid (I'm now 40), but when the saturation process commenced I lost all interest. I recently stumbled across Dmitri's auctions and deja vu bludgeoned me over the head -- after decades I once again experienced the invariable "coolness" factor.

By all accounts, some of the biggest sharks from that auction reside on this very page. Congrats to all and even more reason for me to dive in headfirst. I was a suckerfish by comparison, but I did acquire 8 cards -- Raines' Topps and TTraded being most notable. Suffice it to say I was fascinated by the art of the stolen base back in the day (and speed in general), so naturally players like Henderson and Rock headed my list.

Hope everyone is having a great day, and I look forward to adding my $.05 (inflation) from time to time.

Welcome aboard. I suspect (and hope) that the SCP auction prompted a renewal of interest in many former and potential collectors.

Tim Raines RC was the first baseball card I ever purchased that didn't come out of a pack.

I used to be obsessed with Raines and Vince Coleman because of the stolen bases.
Always looking for 1993-1999 Baseball Finest Refractors and1994 Football Finest Refractors.

Welcome to the boards, and great pick-up at the SCP Auction. That card is a classic for any kid that collected during the 80s!

No apologies necessary. I wonder how many of the young-ins here know what you're referencing.
