Hoping for a REVIEW SPECIAL that is actually useful, you know for cards worth more than $100 or whatever ridiculously low maximum value the last "review special" was.

There hasn't been any specials at all for expensive cards............Ever. Unless it was like 9 years ago or something. Can someone remember a special for cards valued over $500.

Has anyone EVER been able to call early and find out? We ask this every month, yet I've never seen a successful reply.

Almost every month we've found out a day or two early. Just was curious if I need to package it all up for this month, or if I could hold off until I get a few more items I'd like to include - but won't make it here in time.

Must be a new thing over the last few months. I can recall MANY months we didn't know until the 2nd.

    Just yanking your chain.

Like I said midway up the thread, it must be a relatively new thing that happened while I was away (like your Mar/Apr examples) - today's situation has generally been the norm in my experience. IMO, they have precious little business incentive to list a great special early as it might prevent last-minute submitters under the expiring, higher-fee specials.

Either way, here's hoping it's a good one for everyone.

So, they just extended the Set Registry Special again for 2 more months: $10 for 10 cards, under $250, graded in 10 business days.

I really hope we at least get something NEW for this month for the Collectors Club Specials.

Well, I guess it wasn't just a matter of updating the website then. Guess they haven't decided on CC specials yet.

That's because there's virtually no incentive to give customers a price break on the grading fees for expensive cards. Someone who's thinking of getting a 1987T Reggie Jackson graded is probably going to be price conscious; someone thinking of grading a NMMT 1954 Bowman Mantle probably isn't.

I'm curious - what is the issue with logging? You know your stuff got there if you sent it DC, and the real important date is poppage. I could care less if it takes a week to log if its going to take 50 days to pop anyway.

The issue is that theoretically the counter does not start until loggage. So if you send in an order with 3 business day turnaround, and loggage doesn't have happen for 10 days, the submission is still not late, and you still have to wait another 3 business days! (and the overall days may be important if you send in a high dollar card that you bought from ebay that you are not sure is authentic. So, you have to get the answer back from PSA before the 45 days (and regular days, not business days) counter expires from ebay for filing a claim.

This may not be a popular opinion, but I feel like we're a little spoiled when it comes to our demands for these specials. Every time they give us a great special, we then expect it every month, and even a little better than the month before. We complain about their service at every turn... why would they go out of their way to give us specials if we just look the gift horse in the mouth?

Everything is amazing, and nobody is happy.

My parents still have a rotary phone. It's like a time warp back to 1975 everytime I walk into their house. No cable/dish tv, no internet, and their microwave they bought back in 1978 weighs about 300 lbs.
From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo.

If indeed there are no June specials I would see that as a good thing. PSA has been backlogged for months and fewer subs coming in for the short term would certainly help to alleviate that problem.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
