I'm still a piece buyer. But from things I've read here in the forums and elsewhere, not so sure the return is positive.
Been waiting to buy when spot $27 range hits again and this sale popped up. I wanted base ASE's. Dang..
Read things about the relative value/difference of first strikes and question if it is a more then hype, and how unique FS is, and if a real agreed upon grade. These may be 70s, but I don't see the return possibility later on, over those in a raw untouched tube. Another fellow in the coins thread mentioned milk spots and even carbon spots appearing over time. These are not coins in the same sense because they are bullion, so I wonder how much of the coin grading system truly applys profit wise.
Now I may want a few, but I think getting two regular (new) ASEs for the same price will return more in 10-15 years, than $77 for one.

Nope, it's not more than hype.
It's just hype.

<< <i>... I pay less per ounce for genuinely rare old poured bullion. >>
I don't mean to insult poured-bar collectors (honest!) but why is poured better than minted?
If the fineness is the same, and the weight is the same ...
I'd pay a premium if I knew the silver had been poured by Paul Revere. Otherwise I buy the best deal.
Please share your perspective and educate me! Thanks!!!

is it "worth it" to play golf?
I guess "it depends"

Will they get $77 for a few of them? Probably so.
no
I knew it would happen.
<< <i>Holy bumps on every special deal threads. I'm guessing we've been boring. >>
Not at all, I recently discovered APMEX (I know, I'm green at this) and did a search on the forums to learn more about APMEX instead of starting a new thread. Reading these old threads raised some questions.
