Scans of some random autos from the past 35 years including Gary Carter

We are moving and I went through a box in the attic to find some random autographs hidden in the pages of the old Baseball Digests.

Bill Buckner from my Little League Banquet in Woodstock Illinois in the late 70s/early 80s

Manny Trillo and Leon Durham from Spring training. Still dunno why I had Chicago Tribune columnist Fred Mitchell sign

Dana Demueth from the same spring training trip

And Gary Carter. It was at Wrigley Field 85 or later so I am pretty sure he was with the Mets. I had a bunch of the 85 Donruss Super Size cards in the pages of a book (Bob Uecker's autobiography "Catcher in the Wry") and Gary was signing in the left field corner. I presented the card of him on the Expos and he explained he could only sign it with a $30 donation to the Leukemia foundation. I was 13 and didn't carry that kind of scratch. Crestfallen, I asked if he would sign my Bob Uecker book. The 20 or so others there had a good laugh at the comparison and he graciously signed.

And he's gone.

sheesh. If anyone wants 5-6 Baseball Digests from around 1986 - Bill Doran, Teddy Higuera, Mattingly/Boggs, Canseco - let me know and I will send.

I was a big fan of the Rockford TV affiliates (13 and 26 if I recall) because of their higher quality cartoons and wrestling. Let's check timelines. When I was in grade school, my 2 local sports heroes were Greg Bradshaw of Woodstock High and Chuck Hartlieb of Marian Central. Bradshaw went on to quarterback 3 years at Northwestern while Hartlieb did the same at Iowa. Do either of those names resonate?
