Unopened packs - grade them or sell them raw?

Should I have the following graded or sell them raw?

25 rack packs of 1974 Topps Football (one of them has Johnny Unitas on the top)
10 wax packs 1974 Topps Football
12 wax pack 1975 Topps Baseball
I'm building a 1968 and a 1970 Topps set. I have lots of 1970s and 1960s to offer in trade.

I would get the ones graded that look nice and have stars on the top or bottom. Sell the rest raw.

For the most part I no longer look for ungraded wax online unless it's cheap. Not sure what the majority are doing.

    Sell it raw as well
PSA doesnt grade rack packs in my understanding
so there really isnt a reputable grader for these

    PSA does grade cello packs.

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

are they in the same category as wax or should they be sold raw?

Sorry for all the questions, but I came across a lot of unopened material and am not sure how to get the most out of it.

Others here are more knowledgeable than I am, but if I was buying unopened material, I'd want it to be authenticated by PSA
So anything PSA grades, I would have graded. It will cost you a little bit, but youll get more than that back in your sales
If PSA grades cellos then I would have PSA grade yours

You should have PSA grade any cello pack that you believe will grade a PSA 8 or higher, if you are planning for resale.

Great advice on the cellos and I'd grade all the wax.

It's always hard to tell just from a scan, but you could try to post the packs and I know we'll give you our best advice on which ones to submit.

It's better to sell raw than get a really low grade pack I believe. I'm talking PSA 5/6.

    Good luck and great packs!

    .

That's why it would be nice if wax could be authenticated and sealed at a much lower cost so that your buyer would know it's legit on packs that are not minty and thus not deserving of a grade. We hashed this over about a month or two ago on a previous thread. Since it's hard to sell raw wax for fear of resealing a raw wax pack leaves a lot of money on the table.

I agree with you 100%. I have a ton of raw wax, but might only get 6's or 7's. Steve has to authenticate, then PSA grades and slabs. I understand why it's somewhat costly. We did a big group pack sub last year that I organized. Almost 150 packs. Maybe we can do another to get a group rate. I'm sure we could come up with a few hundred easy.

Maybe after the National would be a good time to organize a group submission. It's certainly a great idea. I only wish I had been around last year when you did it.
