Added a neat Texas Rangers rallying moment to my Rangers collection, Ryan pounding Ventura signed by
Over the years, the Rangers have perennially been a bunch of good guys for the most part off the field, but a bunch of losers on it. However, they've pretty much always been my favorite team. Since they don't have the history of championships like some teams have, us Rangers fans don't have a whole lot of highlights and rallying moments to be proud of. However, I have to admit, this was one of my favorite Rangers moments of all time. Nolan took Ventura to the woodshed, and since then, it's been replayed time and time again on the Rangers video boards at the ballpark. However, with Ventura taking over as manager this year and being the Opening Day manager against the Rangers, Nolan decided it was time to retire the moment from being played on the video board. One of the ballpark autograph hounds was able to get this one done by both, and I traded him for it this week.
Tough pic to find signed by both. This one is a 11 x 14 and will be headed to the framers (might have it signed by Pudge Rodriguez too first, that's his arm sticking in there, but I haven't decided yet) and then will be one of a few pieces of sports stuff on my walls.

<< <i>I didn't think ventura would sign that... that is awesome if it is real >>
It is real, you just have to ask him and he has to be in the right mood. Promoters typically won't accept them for send in signings though as they don't want to make him mad. He actually seems to be a pretty good guy. He even signed at the drive in tunnel this year during Opening Weekend here at Rangers ballpark and not a whole lot of visiting teams players/managers do that. As a matter of fact, not many Rangers do either anymore. Too many people hounding out there now compared to prior years.
Ventura was one of my favorite players in the early 90s and I was glued to the tube when this happened. I've always wanted to get this piece signed by both of these guys.
