I was surfing the TV and stumbled across the big Franklin, Ike dealer and he was selling these 5 coins- 1.1971 s ms 65 graded by NGC, 2. Ike 1976 S type 2 dcam pcgs pf69, 3. Kennedy 1964 pf 69 ngc, 4. Kennedy 1985 s pf 70 dcam pcgs and the final and 5th coin was a 1956 Franklin type 2 pf69 NGC. All coins were white and he claimed it was almost impossible to find haze free coins because most have haze and were ruined due to haze being on the coins and he had to search high and low to find haze free proofs. I suppose he does know you can dip them These were 900 plus shipping. Deal or no deal? He sold almost 20 sets in 10 minutes and then a bunch of the same 1 grade lower for 500 bucks. I did not realize these were smoking sekkers at this time. He wrote the book so he is the expert right? Claimed he could not sell a coin he did not believe in.

my buddy eagerly showed me
that only sell
"as seen on TV" brand products
People are hypnotized and the general population lends great credibility to TV
and some cannot think for themselves.
I know for most of us here, it's difficult to even imagine buying from TV but there is a very large segment of the market that gets a charge from buying this way, perhaps from being familiar with HSN, QVC, etc for decades.

hi hunny look what bought for you today off the tv while you was at work
Seemed like a lot of misstatements. I am not a modern collector but i do not bash them. I was born in 1963 so some of these moderns seem old to me. I feel old at 49. I do not feel the need to protect people from themselves but this guy was really bending or twisting on some of the things he was saying.
According to him and his phone operators they were selling sets every minute. The plated state quarter guy gets on my nerves but this one was worse than Chambers and you know he knows he was being mis leading
Layered in .00000000000159 microns of gold for $99 no $69, no not even 29 but for the first 500 callers you can have them for 9.99 each with a strict limit of 5 per family ,just pay the seperate postage and handling. Looks like they could buy a slightly bigger box.
I felt like he was going out of his way to show the buyer that he had done the homework for them and he wrote the book so no need to reasearch whAT he was saying.
I ordered 3 sets sent C.O,D. to lasvegasteddy so he would not miss out of this once in a lifetime deal. No thanks nessassary Teddy

Woah, that's a bit morbid for a Sunday afternoon huh?
<< <i>The really, really frightening thing is that one day each of us will grow old. Our mental and physical abilities will start to slip and then we too will be fodder for scam artists. Who knows, by then I might consider watching QVC as a rip-roaring way to pass the afternoon. Enjoy every second now cuz it's a one-way trip! These coins will be around a lot longer than we will.

You have hit the nail on the head, my parents are in their mid 80's and i find they are starting to have some issues with judgement and my father was a DA, Judge and an attorney at law for over 50 years. My mother was had a teaching degree but never really had a job. There A/C took a dump last year and the service company told them it was going to be 14k to fix. Actual cost to repair was a contactor for less than 100 bucks. System was about 6 years old. Same issues at the Cadillac dealer.
