My friend bought a DVD on Ebay

And got this ...... Interesting item to get . Obviously fake and is magnetic but better detail than I would have expected.

They most likely sold out of the DVD and shipped the coin in lue of, hoping the buyer would get this and think they hit a home run.

1854 wasnt it ? Considering that , theres not that much difference between this chinese fake and what a certain US fantasy coin maker produces and is marvelled at here on this forum. If there was no 1797 S trade dollar then theres no harm done , right ?

I certainly hope you were joking with that comment. If not, I suggest reading up on when the Mints opened.

How come when someone from Asia makes these things with a date not possible it is called a counterfeit but when Dan Carr makes one with a date that is not possible it is called “???”

Oh come on, you know what they're going to say: the host coins are genuine US mint coins, so DC creations are unique FANTASY OVERSTRIKE. Yep, they really believe in it too! Some of them, willing to go so far, to even call it RESTRIKE. Well, you bought it; it's your coin now, and you have every right to call it anything you want! But here in the public forum, with so many knowledgable collectors, you won't be able to fool all of them.

Here is another kick: DC even claimed to engrave his fantasy overstrike products as well. Well, what's there to engrave? So you're engraving what has already been engraved. It sounds like copying to me, but hey, it's his products, and he'll promote it anyway he wants.

For the Chinese man who created the above trade dollar, and may be browsing this forum. You did a good job, thank you for not striking your counterfeit dies on genuine trade dollar host coins... yet.

Oops, come to think about it, Chinese man, you're a little bit too late 'cause someone has already done it!

Come to think more about it. The one who did it, wasn't a Chinese, but one of our own Americans. Yes, should we celebrate now because one of our own has catapulted the counterfeit market into the next level which no longer restricted by law... or so he claimed!
