The fanatical methods of a set collector - please post yours!

I am an absolute fanatic about keeping track of all the sets I'm working on in Excel and imagine many of you in a hobby are just as insane as me. I would love to know, for raw set collectors, how you guys keep track of what you have and what you don't. Here is one example of the 50 page Excel document that I have going that reflects the 24 signed sets that I'm working on. It's an absolutely stupid endeavor and the odds of finishing any of them are very slim but for some reason I'm addicted. Do any of you guys keep Excel docs like this? Would love to see examples posted here. I'm always looking for new ideas.
So you know how I set up my doc:
- the "1" next to a card and it's standing in black and white mean I have the card completed and signed (the 1's add up into the formula that creates the % finished etc)
- the gray spaces mean that the card is currently outstanding either at a private signing or in the mail
- if a player's name is red, it means he's deceased, and the year after his name is his year of death
- if the card number is green, it's PSA slabbed/certified
- if the card number is blue, it's off to PSA for slabbing.certification
- if the card number is orange, it's personalized (I don't like personalized cards so these stand out and annoy the hell out of me)
Like I said, I'd love to see examples of how you guys catalog your cards and sets!!
And apologies for starting a card-related on-topic thread on Friday night!

Wow, this crazy. I have about 300,000 open cards in too many partial sets I am working on. Only my Heritage sets are organized. All my cards (excpt maybe two 5,000 count boxes of mixed junk) are sorted. I tend to jump from one set to another and then come back later to pick up where I left off. I just got a good deal on a R Jackson rookie in NrMt so started that set, then bought a couple of hundred commons from Young's. Then back to the 76, 75 mini, etc. I need a good way to be able to see all of my set needs in one place. Help!
To be honest, no direction, but...
