Anyone want a hint on an eBay cherrypick?

I'll make you work for it a little bit. Here's the coin. You just have to figure out what it really is.

I am not the seller and I have no idea who the seller is.

Transitional reverse - a pattern. 1859 normally only had a laurel wreath reverse, without shield.

Nice! Already more than I'd pay for one with problems... I can't believe they didn't at least attribute it on the holder.

Doesn't the regular 1859 PF sell for more than the pattern?

i am thinking that a grade of 63 would bring around $1200-1400 or so

    edited to add:

Copper experts: Any way of bringing this one back and subsequently having it grade out in a regular holder?

I'm not sure that's a cherry pick price......there's no price too low for a problem coin, as Snow would say.

Is this not a coin that comes in both Unc. and Proof formats? If I remember correctly, the proofs are much scarcer.
