1913 Lincoln MS67RD Price Drop?

Not too long ago it was a pop 4 coin. Now in the past couple months there have been three auctioned off. Now the Pop report shows 6.
At what point would you expect the price to drop as the pop goes up?

I suspect one or two of the coins were resubmitted.

I'm thinking that these may have been retreads also, if thats the case we should'nt expect to see any change.

Very unlikely. If you consider the fact that it was a pop 4 coin not long ago, one is in Stewart's collection, another in Gerry's and another in Bender's, it leaves the Jack Lee coin as the only one available in the recent past. Of the three offered recently, one is a CAC coin, another in an OGH and the most recent in a blue label holder.

    Yikes! Resubmit for a 67+ or 68? At 67RD it's a $27k coin.

    Here's a 66RD. All I could manage.

  • Lloyd, you dog! How is it going? Yes, I have been bitten again. Put the Lincolns aside for a couple years, but back in the game again.

Following some of these crazy coins is like a shell game on the NYC sidewalk.

Ikeigwin: Those pics look familiar. I have to look on my other computer... (Looks like my coin once, and mgoodm3 took the pics?).

Correction: If that pic is a 66, wasn't mine - but the picture is sooooo mgoodm3. I had a MS67RD I bought from Heritage, Pittsburgh, August, 2004. At the time, it was a pop THREE. It now is a CAC, and just sold April, 2012.

  • Sounds about right, Lloyd. I remember battling Stewart for the first one back in the early 90's. He outbid me at $1100!!!
    Man, time flies.

What with Plus and Secure grading I've seen some super low pop coins submitted. Perhaps not the case here- especially if most of them can be identified as to who owns them.

  • Just looked. Auction archives at Heritage do not go that far back, but a second one was sold at the '96 ANA. At the time it was a Pop 2 coin. Sold for $1760 ($1600 hammer-10% buyer's premium back in the good old days!).

Nah, those are my images and a little old. Mark's would be nicer.

I bought that from Andy Skrabalak a couple of years ago.
