TELETRADE TONIGHT! - 1945-S Merc in PCGS MS67 - Unattributed FS-511 I do believe.

It is not part of the PCGS Registry Set. It is in the Cherrypickers' Guide but will not be in the next edition. DIMEMAN has an MS64. I am saving my money right now. fcloud has some of these and is not interested either....

So, it is up for grabs....I believe it to be the FS-511 from the photos...NO GUARANTEE FROM ME but I do think it is the variety called Possible Over Mintmark.

Nice coin in an old holder but it has spots. If it were mine, I would send it in to PCGS for a Spot Review, Reholder and Attribution. Good luck!

It sold for $60 I think....and I wonder if the new owner even knows. image

The spots kept me away from it...otherwise a very nice example.

Yep. Possibly a very nice possible RPM!

BTW, I cannot help but winder what will happen to these coins that are "being moved to the Appendix" due to a "low Interest Factor"?

In the past, PCGS has not attributed coins which were only in the Appendix. The 1977-D DDO FS-101 was a very good example. I know of at least one other person which showed PCGS that the coin was listed with an FS-101 number yet they refused to attribute the coin.

Does this mean that those coins which have been attributed with FS Numbers that get moved into the Appendix due to a "low Interest Factor" become the "last" ones attributed?

And while I'm at it, what defines a "law Interest Factor" or better yet who makes that determination? Is it based on total attributions? Is it based on Forum Buzz? What?
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

They don't come in much higher grades than that...it would offer a good chance to examine it. The CPG says they would not mind seeing a better example...well there it was.... image

I think a lot of the low interest factor has to do with PCGS saying they are too minor to attribute. PCGS decided after reviewing one of the coins I spent many hours looking for as too minor only after they received my coin and it went for attribution. It still think they shouldn't have changed their rules after the fact. This coin is similar to the FS110. Some people think it is and some don't.

I think the 42 trumpet tail s would be more worthy of attribution than this one.

I sure hope the coins moved to the app. aren't deleted from the sets and are not continued to be attributed!!

The only reason they are being moved is to make room for more coins in the CPG. They should go another direction and have more books. Maybe one for each denom.

I will have to check with Mike Faraone at PCGS on this.

How on earth can you tell if it's an RPM with the MM area so washed out? image

I will never bid on teletrade. I consider that a garbage site with funny rules.

" what defines a "low Interest Factor ?"

Almost anything that starts with FS. IMO, more annoying than interesting. Great move by PCGS to igore this.!! image
