Here's another one for the group.....
Can't decide if this one should go in with my first 8...
Any comments welcome......worth it? Any guesses on grade?

IMHO the toning isn't particularly attractive, but not negative; I'd consider it a neutral impact on the coin. The coin does look very clean, based upon the picture I'd give it a MS66.

    Thanks Modcrewman...
I have others of the same date from an original roll...others with much more attractive toning but not quite as clean.
The question is, do I go for the toning or the clean surfaces.... I'm trying to find a compromise.
I'll have to keep looking here before I commit.

not sure if it's heavy motto...if so that makes it a no brainer to submit...image

I don't know if it's a heavy motto either....Maybe I should wait and have it done with an submission that allows attribution?
    Thanks for that idea VegasTeddy

Looks more like an MS64 to me.

Good luck with it if you decide to submit for grading.

Looks like a nice original coin to me, but if the others with pretty color are 65's......I would go with the pretty toned ones.

    That's just me.

Here's an older photo of one of the ones with nicer toning. The lighting is flat and the color a dash off as it's an older photo yet the luster is about the same as the first one.
it's one of my alternate choices. Only 64's wouldn't be worth the expense of grading IMO.

Thats a medium motto and the toning, IMO, may not affect the grade but it definitely affects the desireability of the coin. The toning, along with the toning on the second coin pictured, is just not attractive nor the type of toning which would pull any sort of premium.

Do not submit the coins because of the toning. You'll just be disappointed when you try to resell them.

Both coins shown are Medium Motto pieces, which is by far the most common variety for the year, and both coins are really pretty.

I think the chatter on the cheek will hold it to 64.
Here is a PCGS 67 medium motto for comparison.

Looks like it would be a 64 with a chance for 65 at best with all of the small hits on George's face and in his hair, and also the hit on the eagles right wing. It is a very nice Medium motto variety you got there.

My first impression was 65. Toning isn't especially nice as previously stated but I think mid-high MS early date Washington's are beautiful. There's just something magical about seeing the 30's on the Washie that the 40's-64 just don't do for me. Nice coin image
