PCGS submission questions

nagsnags Posts: 806 ✭✭✭✭
When you have a OGH'd coin which you think is worthy of an upgrade how do you re-submit it? Is it better to send to CAC instead? Is there any way to tell if a coin has previously been resubmitted in the holder to PCGS or to CAC? I'd think that having this information would be very helpful in evaluating a potential purchase.

Lastly, if you have a coin in an off-brand holder is it best to send the coin in the holder or to crack it out.

Thanks in advance.

If the coin had previously been resubmitted to PCGS, it wouldn't be in the OGH still.
PCGS will crack out PCGS coins, submit as if raw, guarantee against a downgrade, and give a new holder.

For me, right now, I would likely send to stickerville....and pretend I was an Olympic athlete...going for the gold!

To see if it has been previously submitted to stickerville, I would call them.

Off brand holder? Depends on the coin. I sent in a few PCI coins in March and they all graded with PCGS AT, or ABOVE the PCI grade.
I agree with PCGS's assessment on them.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
