Verlander going for another no hitter?

I knew there was a reason I started a Verlander basic set in spite of being a Royals fan.
The man is just amazing. Best pitcher in baseball hands down.

Crap. In the 9th how can you throw a slow, slow, hanging off speed curveball? You be bringing the heat. And then the hit barely gets out of the infield. I hate when that happens o break up a no hitter.

Dang, would have loved it if Verlander had thrown his 3rd no hitter.image

Whew. As a Pirate fan, that was a close one. Still haven't been no-hit since Bob Gibson's 1971 gem. The Bucs only have two ML quality hitters on the team (McCutchen and Walker). If Alvarez can get it going, that will make it three. This team would be half dangerous with an offense. They need to get Starling Marte and Josh Bell to the bigs stat!

Since when have the Tigers had any ML-quality infielders this year??

One of the best investments I ever made was a few years ago when I snagged a Topps Co-Signers Autographs with Verlander and Fidrych for something like $20-30. Of course, I'm never selling it...

I'll bet that back in 07 when Detroit management decided to give Dontrelle Willis that big contract, they were thinking that he'd be the Ace of the Tigers staff today.

I tried to go in the Tiger's dugout at the end of the seventh inning to discuss the no hitter with the players', but security got me and so this message board was the only place I could come to talk about it.

The guy is just electrifying. He would have the capabilities of completing 3/4s of his starts if the Marlboro man would let him.Justin has that old school philosophy finsh what you start instead of waiting an hour for PAPA GRANDE to finish the ninth inning.
