Dan has written a well thought blog re "Less is More" and deserves reading. It is a noted dealer's perspective of the lack of desireable coins at too many shows.
And if there were fewer, but bigger shows, it would benefit all--a better supply of nice coins and less travel by all concerned.
So, which shows are you planning on attending in the next 12 months, and what particular coins/series/grades are you seriously looking for today?
Me? The ANA in Philly, November Baltimore, FUN in January, and maybe Long Beach in February( this last one because it gets cold here in Tahoe)
Specific coins? all early bust in high grade, with great eye appeal.

How's this for eye appealing bust material?
Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

No kidding! Wish I could afford MS Bust coinage. I just have to be satisfied by enjoying the eye candy on Dan's site while it lasts

<< <i>I agree with Dan that there are too many big shows, and think it's a very healthy development that the ANA has cancelled their fall show after this year. The next big problem is all the consecutive years of summer ANA and CSNS being held near Chicago. That market will be numismatically tapped out very quickly. >>

But I guess it looks like most coin dealing is heading toward the internet.
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.
on what are considered good coins. There's only so much numismatic bucks to go around. Back in the late 80's when only 1-2 MILL coins had been graded, "everything"
was a good coin, including MS65 common date Buffs and Mercs. As the ranks continually grow, the gene pool of great coins shrinks, while "stuff" constantly increases.
Just 2 shows for me this year, Philly and FUN.
That being said, one reason for the scarcity of fresh coins at shows is the ease with which they can be sold without the hassle of dragging them to shows.
