1917 S SLQ with Rim Ding - Submit it?

I've got a coin i've debated sending into PCGS.. I'm assuming it will grade, but how badly do you think the rim ding will net the grade down?

I am not sure it is a rim ding at all. It may be a mint made defect. I would guess it would grade.

Looks like a small edge cut which for all we know could have happened in circulation.

Worth a shot as in an ole gasket holder you wouldn't see most of it.

Now that both services are using prongs more coins will be rejected by collectors for rim issues.

I'm watching a token right now in a MS62 whitey prong tomb that looks like it was whacked hard on the rim with a hammer.

I see no downside in submitting that coin. If it were mine it would be in the submit for sure pile. Very nice even with the small ding.

Nice looking coin at first glance, but in my opinion- Rim ding + spotting + residue in A of STATES= gennie holder. I'd call it AU58 details rim damage/improperly dipped.

Edit to add- now that I've said that, our hosts will likely call it a 64 full head struck through error coin image
