Seeking Mantle Gurus Opinions Please...

Long time fan for several years, just never have anything worthy to post, so a newbee on this end. I am and have been for several years a buyer and seller of high end investment cards. Just not anything of this magnitude. Have some high end stuff but this is off my chart....Please someone make a link, I am clueless.

Looks like I could get this around the 12.5 range.

Thoughts please. Dealt with the buyer and he is solid, but need the gurus in the know to offer authenticity advise. Is it nuts to do a ebay deal for that kind of money?

When that kind of money is involved, I would make a mini vacation out of it and do the deal face to face. The seller does offer to sell face to face at different places around the country so maybe it could be made easy for you.

Card is legit. Why don't you look at the other 4. It's a nicer card in my opinion, and the seller is a respected board member. You could do a deal off eBay and probably get the card for less than 12.5!

  • I'm not a '52 Mantle guru, so I'll refrain from comment.

I've purchased a few higher priced items (definitely not close to the 12K number) from this seller and he's first class.

I think the card and seller are both legit, so no problems there. However, the card just doesn't look "clean" to me. The borders aren't white and it just cheapens the look of the card entirely, in my opinion. The centering, corners, etc all look fine for the grade, but I just think you could get a brighter card that "pops" more for the money.

    Good luck!
2.5 is pretty much my speed.

Agreed. Why you take a look a past PSA 4 sales in VCP ? There is approx 20 images of past cards for price/condition comparison. Good luck with whatever you do.
