question about regrades

Anybody here have experience submitting coins for regrade with CAC green beans on them? Anybody successfully get an upgrade? Reason I ask is, I am thinking of sending in some CAC green sticker coins on a larger regrade order, and was wondering if my odds of upgrade are decent, or if I really shouldn't try unless it got the gold bean. Thanks.

Here's a hint to the OP.....

If you have a thread POOFed, don't go making another one right away on the exact same topic.
You risk getting banned for doing so.

You have been around almost 6 years....even if you aren't here daily, you should still have enough knowledge of the boards to know something like that.

Like I said in the other thread.....all the sticker means is an opinion. It can carry weight, but it is still an opinion. Grading with a TPGS is an opinion as well. If they opinions agree, great. if not, then they don't.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

YOU have to make that decision on how you see the coin.

Chance for an upgrade and don`t mind losing the sticker even if it comes back at the same grade?

    Try it.

  • Sorry, never had a thread pulled, very surprised that this one did because I am contemplating sending PCGS an order for regrades, something that's good for PCGS to be sure, and some of the coins I'm considering have the green stickers on them, and was just curious what the experience was of anyone that has done that before. I am not stumping for CAC, never sent a coin to them before and never intend to, but I do buy coins from time to time that may have been CAC'd (but I don't buy them because of that). Arrgh!

    +1

If you don't care about losing the sticker (and you will, because you'll get a new cert#) give it a shot.

Personally, I wouldn't spend the money and take the risk unless I was pretty sure it was undergraded.

From personal experience, just because a PCGS coin has the CAC sticker, means there is still very little chance of an upgrade, not worth the effort. Besides, you then need to again send off to CAC for a resticker at $10 plus two way shipping. If you are talking about a NGC CAC crossover at grade, you have a little more chance, but not much.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

It seems to me that the CAC threads in general only get poofed when either the OP or a subsequent poster either promote CAC or bash CAC. Makes sense, as that is pretty much exactly what is stated in THE RULES.

Keep in mind that the graders will be unaware of any sticker having been present when you resubmit, as the coins will be presented to the graders as a raw coin.
