NEWP- 20 Cent Piece- GTG and Comments Welcome *GRADE REVEALED*

LeeBoneLeeBone Posts: 4,466 ✭✭✭✭✭
My first coin of this Type, and most common date of the series.
I`ve looked at the circulated 20 centers for a while and lots seem to be very ugly. (IMO)
Finally decided on adding this one to my collection.
Any and all comments welcome.

Nice, and I would say around VF20, as the LIBERTY is not incuse and tends to wear quickly on these.

Almost a full Liberty means 35 to me. Looks like a shot 40.

What is going on under the 1? Is that a depression or is it dirt?

Despite that distraction, I like the coin. I'm going to guess VF30

This piece graded EF45 with PCGS about 2 years ago. I would guess your piece is around VF30 to 35.

I agree most of these in circ grades look like crap.

But this one is nice and is 35-40 to me.

VF-30, but PCGS will likely grade this one VF-35.

VF-30 is my guess, possible 25, but leaning towards 30.

My first thought was the wrong mint mark. My second was 25 and then 30. So, either
    one would be nice!

That has a very nice, original look. I have an 1875-P for my type set; I still can't get past Ms. Liberty's gopher-like facial features and unusually long and fat right index finger; perhaps she was a proctologist/urologist in a former life?
