Flip with a .5 and a Q?

Ever see a flip with a .5 and a qualifier? Do they not happen because there is not enough room on the slab?

8.5 grades do not have qualifiers.
Half grades are more like anti-qualifiers
As opposed to a card getting a whole grade but being unusually weak in one area thereby earning a qualifier, a half-grade is supposed to indicate the card is unusually strong in an area (typically centering according to PSA's original explanation)

Great explanation. And I'm still confused when I see an 8.5 that isn't dead-centered.

That's about as good as a short explaination as you can get.
