PM Investing Advice Basic:

Best plain simple advice that I think everyone should read first time in, as it sets a proper mental mindset and base knowledge. Other beliefs, opinions, knowledge, and experiences are added in this forum, but an investor of PMs should understand the core basics. No ones wants to see anyone get hurt from these ventures, esp the newest in the arena. Except from www.tulving.com:

FACTORS YOU MUST CONSIDER IN PURCHASING COINS AND BULLION ITEMS

RISK: The purchase of coins or bullion items are highly speculative and involves substantial risk. As in other markets, coin or bullion prices can be extremely volatile and will rise and fall depending upon market conditions. Therefore, before purchasing coins or bullion, you should first have adequate cash reserves and other assets to absorb a potentially significant loss.

HOLDING PERIOD: Historically, few coins or bullion items have appreciated dramatically in the short term. Therefore, purchasers should recognize that it may well be necessary for them to hold coins for a 3 - 5 year period, or even a 5 - 10 year period, to have any chance of realizing a significant gain.

You do realize what risk is, correct?

It is measured as a statistical variance from the mean. It doesn't necessarily relate to your odds of winning or losing.

How you invest and how you manage your money determines that. Just clarifying risk for you.

On this site, you will hear from longterm and shorterm traders/investors. They think differently and both ways are valid. Both disciplines gain from exposure to the other.image
