Getting motor oil off coins....

A friend had a garage issue and somehow the change jar got soaked in motor oil. Now the son is in charge of cleaning the oil off and then the coins are his for gas money. The coins are just regular change. Any ideas how to get motor oil off in bulk without scrubbing them all?
Coinstar is not an option.....
Update:
Just saw the guy with the oil spill again, he told me they soaked the coins in oxyclean and that did the trick.

cat litter.
Are these collectible coins? or just spenders?
If spenders: Detergent (Dawn) to dissolve the oil, then water rinse.
If collectible: Detergent (Dawn), then water, pat dry, then acetone soak.

Haven't you seen the environmental commercials run on TV around the times of an oil spill? They use it on the birds etc.

<< <i>Two tablespoons of dawn dishwashing soap with 3 gallons of hot water in a 5 gallon bucket. Pour contents into a second 5 gallong bucket....repeat again. Water/dawn will get the oil off. Rinse off with cool water and dry on a couple of towels. >>
Agree---hot water. plenty of Dawn or similar detergent. rinse in hot water, and let air dry. How did these coins get into the oil?

I agree assuming that you even want to conserve them. As was suggested, rinse of the excess and roll them.

Drain them well, pat with paper towels then drop them in a container with hot Tide Laundry Detergent! Its the best for motor oil from my engine building days.
