11 days without a ttt of any thread with the word Barber in it according to a cursory search.
That Zoom of the engines that kept the True Believers going into the next race is silenced.
Bam! those newp 93-s halves that kept being posted...
Pow! those tales of the perfect 05-o...

Dead. Barbers are dead.

Jinx86 I feel you meant to state "quiet" and Draped10c was that supposed to be "quite"

Apparently, usage and punctuation died along with Barbers and Spelling.
Broadstruck, you start the above quote as declaratory sentence, then changes horses mid-stream and finish it as an interrogative, yet omit the question mark. Grammar physician, heal thyself.

<< <i>Actually my last 8 out of 10 ebay sales were all barber and Buy It Nows. Far from dead, just a quiet bunch of collectors. >>
That's good news - I saw the thread title and figured I better hurry up and dump my hoard of mid-grade quarters at 20 back of Bid before the market totally collapses
Can't say the Barber Market is "dead" but it could be busier.
There is a BST out there which is not getting a whole lot of play.

Yes. The part about only keyword searching "Barber".
I stand by my initial statement, as my Soapbox Moment will not be denied by details.
11 days I tell you!
It's nice of you to all chime in, both with Barber Love, and dissent.
Also grammatical critique is always welcome.
And fencing squirrels.
Barbers. On life support.
<< <i>Barbers have the problem of being followed up by the Mercury Dime, the Standing Liberty quarter and the Walking Liberty half-- all way better designs, IMHO. And let's not even go into the buffalo nickel. >>
"Better" is subjective. Some people think that Beenie Babies are beautiful objects worthy of collecting. If you want to collect the numismatic equivalent of Beenie Babies...who are we to complain?

It's a week of 24/7 coins and something I personally look forward too for months.
We are going to have fun, and I promise you I will learn as much from the attendees in the class as I will teach to them. It's been awhile since I have taught at Santa Rosa City College so the excitement of doing a class again about something I am passionate is just awesome.
A fun week of numismatics in a beautiful corner of the world in Colorado.
Had my head buried in the books so that's my excuse.

My BST on Barbers is picking up,
So they are not dead, just snoozing.
Glenn: looking forward to see what
"goodies" you'll bring to the Seminar.
I hope the overdate proof Dimes are
on your list. Maybe some proof Halves too ??

Glenn, Colorado in the summer is awesome. Barbers would just add to the awesomeness.
Of course y'all know I was just being cheeky with this thread, trying to stir it up a bit.
There have been some new barber posters on the Mega Thread, recharging the juices.
Barbers are alive.
Happy collecting!

<< <i>Well, the 1893-s Barber half is not dead. It seems to have a life of its own, soaring way beyond all price guides. >>
It's a killer date, always has been, always will.
I have owned a few and my most recent purchase
was priced 3X Trends. I thought I'd be buried in it,
but have refused offers for a 33% profit.
