Tony, I'm curious about the reason behind your post. I don't think Jim Leyland is on the hot seat at all right now. He is not the buffoon who dropped $214 million on a player the Tigers did not need while at the same time leaving the team without a leadoff hitter, a #2 hitter, or a major league second baseman, not to mention the statues who play 3rd base and left field.

Truthfully its not so much Jims managing its that Dumbo dropped a lot of bucks without filling position needs and he has a 5 yr contract and Jimmy is on a 1 yr contract so someone will be a scapegoat if this team keeps playing at the rate they are playing now.1 yr or 5yr? .Maybe we gave this team too much hype and maybe they are not as good as advertised.Lets hope things get better soon.I am a lifelong 63 yr old tiger fan for better or worse.

I can't really pinpoint any bad decisions Leyland has made thus far this season, except maybe pulling Fister against Seattle after only 70+pitches. Everyone last season had career years. We cannot expect (and now will not get) Valverde to be perfect again. We are lucky to get 70% of what Peralta was, Raburn/Boesch never should have left Toledo and Young is just bad news. Tigers need to find chemistry within themselves. Last season, Martinez was an incredible leader, as well as an even better bat. Fielder is just slumping now, but will put up his numbers. Jackson has been a vast improvement thus far, as he is actually working walks and getting on base. They need to just hand 2B over to Danny Worth, and LF to Dirks and wash their hands of Raburn/Young. This team has holes that can be fixed with simple attitude adjustments. I don't see any problem with Leyland. He is a tough-as-nails, old school professional and respects his players and they respect him. The team as a whole is underachieving, but still has plenty to at least win the division. Post season is a different story!! Cut Leyland/Fielder/Dombrowski a little slack as they are some of the game's best.
