1c 2003 Close AM- MS65-ish Red. Should I have bought it for $5 today?

Not my series and I am curious if I should have picked it up just in case I see the dealer again. Dealer said he found it while searching roles. The "AM" were touching so it was certainly "close". Thanks all.

Greg, the only 2003 a.m. that shouldn't be touching is the "proof". I don't know If you know this? If you do have a 2003 Wide a.m. in circulated, than you got yourself something special!

Clueless! I don't do cents and this was not a proof...so what you are saying is that thing should be spent? He had what I would call...a lot of junk in his case....but since he wrote that on the 2x2 it caught my attention only because I know folks around here have talked about the Close AM cents.

2003 Wide A.M. was never discovered, at least I don't think so? Run Greg, Go ! The odds are that he's talking about a 2000 Wide A.M. Which is worth about 20 bucks. ( depends on condition ) The 1999 Wide A. M. is the holy grail!
