Josh Hamilton must be an alien

17 homers and 40 batted in on May 10. Simply ridiculous. Just for my edification, what is his best 1 or 2 rookies. If this goes much longer, triple crown hype will drive up some value.

.......A crack smoking alien. JK I like Hamilton. 2008 HR derby was one of the most amazing baseball related things I've ever seen in person. I saw a lot of BP moonshots hit at the Old Stadium. Griffey, Strawberry, Tino, and believe it or not Raul Mondesi hit some of the longest, but I never saw anyone (in person) hit a ball halfway up the back wall behind the right-centerfield bleachers like Hamilton did that night. Personally I'm rootin' for the triple crown for him. He's an amazing talent, and it would make another great chapter in the rise, fall, rise story that has been his career.

1999 topps traded. Pictured in a Rays uni.
In the spring of 2011 I sent a rookie to spring training and one to Arlington. Struck gold and got both back this December. Stupidly sold one for $10.

His BEST rookie card would be the 1999 Topps Traded Autographed one.

Batting .407, 17 HR and 40 RBIs and it's not even mid May

Love his story and have been pulling for him since he started his amazing comeback.

One of my customers in Raleigh goes to the same church as Josh and got me these signed a few years ago.

Best player in baseball. I'd like to go out drinking with him and see if he can keep up though.

Although he's had a few great years and is a great comeback story, I wonder what his long term potential will be. I could only imagine what the 1999 Rookie Auto is going for right now. Likely $400 and should he keep it up, will peak at a few hundred more. Graded will likely be up there in price.

Definitely not the time to buy Hamilton. Now is the time to buy Pujols' rookies
Im a big fan of Hamilton's, but I also think his career stats might be limited due to his late start and frequent injuries. But two MVPs could override subpar career stats when it comes time for HOF voting.

If you want a sure thing for HOF take a look at Miguel Cabrera's stats - model of consistency and huge career #s for a 29 yr old
