They don't have a 75 box but do have a 78 box (both Topps and OPC)..
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
The last OPC box we did yielded a lot of OC cards. I suppose that's not an indicator of things to come, unless the box up on the site is from the same case?
I put a list together last week of a potential rip. The only 70's stuff was the 78 Topps BB. Everything else was early 80's BB, FB, Bsk and Hockey. There was some kinda cool stuff like 84 and 86 cello FB. Anyway, if there is interest, I can publish the list or we can wait a few more weeks and see if anything else appears on BBCE's list.
Clockworkangel - What we do is buy boxes/cases from BBCE. Steve gives us 10% off of what we buy. We limit to so many packs or boxes/person for a given amount of time so everyone can get involved. You can do a quick search using "BBCE Box Break" and see how it works. If not, PM me and I can explain better.

OK, here is the list I put together. Let's have everyone review and reply back what you would be interested in. If there is enough interest, we can get another group rip going.

It was fun ripping the 2001 Topps Traded baseball. My son would be up for more of that. You guys would know if there were other things like that which could be fun too.
I have updated the list and tried to get multiples from each sport. The only 70's BB left was 78 and 79 OPC. I added a few early 80's cellos and racks. In FB, I figured we could do a run of FB from 80-86 with 80 and 81 being wax and 82-86 being cello. In Bsk, I thought we could do the 81/82 East/MW boxes. Hockey I picked an early 80's OPC as well as 85/86 Topps (Lemiux rookie).
The 78 Topps BB has already been sold as well as the 82/83 OPC Hockey. I will e-mail Steve to reserve the boxes.
***I will start a new thread at 9:00 PM EST tonight. Please reserve your packs in this new thread***
The last time I did this everyone just got the same thing. Are we picking whatever we want from the list? Is there a two pack max to start or something like that? Sorry if there's a standard system I'm unaware of.

You can pick up to two of anything on the list for the first 48 hours. After 48 hours are up (Monday at 9:00 pm EST), you can take two more of anything on the list (if available). After 96 hours are up (Wednesday at 9:00 PM EST) you can take as much of anything you want (if available).
We have yet to decide what we want though. Right now the OP is just formulating a list. I will also take a few hundred of the following, matter in fact, I'm going to the website to buy them all.
Darn, looks like someone beat me to it. I guess I'll just take a few cases of the overproduced stuff, I heard some new candy company in town couldn't give the stuff away. Matter in fact, I was told they are taking truck loads of it and dumping it in the river.

Toro,
I figured that since there wasn't any "high price" stuff on the list that we would try and offer up everything.
I would like to participate if possible...I am new around here but am not new to collecting and can provide any info anybody needs. This looks like fun
I am curious where you guys are getting these packs...?

Boxes are from the Baseball Card Exchange, the most reputable unopened dealer.
read the first post of the Official 2012 BBCE PSA Group Break #6 Baseball, Football, Bskb and Hockey **Were Live** thread adn then post what you want based on what is available. Get in there b/c a lot is gone already!
It's pretty sad that the industy leader in unopened material doesn't have more of a selection for us to choose from.
I'm not pointing that out as a rip on Steve and BBCE, but I do have to wonder about those who think there is "a ton" of unopened material out there still available. Seems if there is, the owners are sitting on it pretty tight right now.

There is usually an interest thread started by a well known forum member. All the items come from Baseball Card Exchange. The company is owned by Steve Hart. He also happens to authenticate unopened packs for Professional Sports Authenticators. Basically, his product is guaranteed to be unopened and unsearched. He is considered one of the top experts in unopened material in our hobby. If there is an error or product issue, which happen from time to time, he is quick to rectify it usually in a refund or store credit. Essentially, we(the forum) agree on items to break. We get a 10 percent discount and BBCE ships every individual members total purchase to them separately. There is a new thread for the official group rip. Check it out and welcome!
<< <i>It's pretty sad that the industy leader in unopened material doesn't have more of a selection for us to choose from. >>
For both parties it is. I'm sure if he had it, he would post it.Anything from the 70's doesn't last very long. Matter in fact,a few months ago, someone bought a few dozen eighties vending cases from him within a few hours of posting....that's cases, not boxes..
Edited to add: Simply put, when he gets something, it sells.

Big Red, think of it this way - if a company has a glut of product in their inventory, they either a.) don't have a large clientele base to sell to, or b.) are priced too high for what the market can bear. I tell people all the time, "we're not running a museum." When we get product in, it goes quick, sometimes in a matter of hours! I guess that means we're priced right, and our clients know they have to act quickly because if they don't get it, someone else will.
Believe me, we are trying as hard as we can to acquire all the unopened product we can. We're constantly on the road buying collections (I'm on pace to break my record for most days on the road in a calendar year) and we've significantly increased our advertising budget to try and reach as many sellers as possible. I too often wonder if vintage unopened material is drying up, and that may be the case. Think of all the product that has been opened since grading took off in the late 90s!

Oh, I don't doubt your business model or howhard you're working. What you say makes perfect sense. I was only speaking to the possibility that there may not be quite as much of this stuff out there than some collectors claim.
