Before you laugh, here is a pearl I picked up from an ebay auction tonight.......what do you think??
NGC no longer uses this type of clear plastic NCS holder for net graded coins; however, I'm a big fan of this particular holder and prefer it to the white plastic NGC holder. I think these clear NCS holders will become collector's items in the not too distant future, much like NGC black slabs, PCGS rattlers, doilys, and old green holders.
Link to rare NCS slab.....

I think the ebay seller was most likely a forum member!

You need help, serious help.
But I do have some more 2x2 flips from the 50's I will bring to Philly.
I thought it was the stupidist thing I've read in a long while.
I destroyed my GI Joes, but my wife still has her Barbies in mint condition with original clothing and boxes!
<< <i>No, but I did not foresee Hot Wheels cars becoming collectible either (or I would not have thrown all of mine out when I was 9). >>
I wish I saved all my trashed hot wheels cars from the early 70s.
<< <i>Classic holders disirablity is based on the correlating perceived grading standard used at the time with the exception of black and doilys. Considering that gen holders aren't graded I doubt that they will ever set the wold on fire as the core coin isn't as exciting >>
Also, they can be really hard to find. NCS coins aren't rare (even if they aren't extremely common), and there was little reason to break them out. Doilies and black slabs are available in limited numbers not only because their use was short lived, but because so many were destroyed (crack-outs and regrades) before the slabs themselves had value.
coin with a scratch and just melt them and be gone with them once and for all.
Heck - maybe anything grading under AU58 or with questionable toning should go too.
And pass a law that if the plastic on a slab has any scratches, the coin must be sent back
in and re-slabbed within 36 hours of noticing the scratch, with violators being subject to the full extent of the law.
Now that would be nirvana - I might even be able to drink the blue flavor in public.

although the answer may be a seemingly obvious no, a philosophy i've adopted for 2012 forward

As to the coin inside? Yes
And before people jump on this, just remember that a coin speaks for itself.

What in the world made you not only look at that, but actually open the auction to thoroughly read the description
and all the key words were there.
