VCP help on Ted Williams Playball

I termed my VCP as I have not been buying much lately. Can someone help me out with VCP pricing on:

1939 Ted Williams Playball #92 in a BVG 1.5

If there are no BVG 1.5's, any similar PSA or SGC card data?

There is a one listed on eBay with a BIN for $575 with a starting auction price of $499 Play Ball BVG 1.5 rookie eBay Link

Seems a tad high but I can handle the scratch and am getting antsy to add this card to my collection.

Seems kinda high for a 1.5, but it IS a good looking 1.5!! I sold a 3 (MK) for $525 recently, so I guess the price is good?

It is a little more than current prices but not real high, here is what was shared with me:

Latest Auction Prices for: BVG 1.5 - Average Price: $460.99
    5/2/11 eBay $460.99
    7/18/10 eBay $360.99

Latest Auction Prices for: PSA 1.5 - Average Price: $365.99
    11/15/10 eBay $365.99

I think prices have been moving up on this card in low grade based on the last 2 on eBay a PSA 2.5 that sold for $650 and a PSA 3 that sold for $675. I was one of the underbidders on both of them.

BTW Bobby, how the hell did you not sell that MK3 to me? I have been looking for that card for several months now!

I didn't know you were in the market Eloy. I won it raw, subbed it, and consigned it with Probstein. If I had known you wanted it, you could have gotten it - we both could have saved some money!

Well I just hit the BIN @ $575. I thought about putting a max bid of $575 to see if could save a few bucks but did not want to take a chance on losing it.

Nice looking card, I can't believe that a print line dropped it all the way down to a 1.5. Does it have a crease?

    Good luck with it.

    Good for you.

Good looking card for the grade, IMO. Way to go, Eloy!

Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.

The seller said the mark is a crease but not bad enough to go through the back. This might be blasphemous but I think BVG is a lot tougher than PSA on vintage creases & smudges.

Thanks Dave. I still wish I had picked up the one you had on the BST board several months ago!
