Picked this one up from our own jom, who is another cool cat to deal with.
...There's always time for coin collecting.

<< <i>Glad you like it. Perfect example of an AU58.

Was this example up on the bst? If so I guess I missed out. I've been looking for a au58 with similar patina for a while now...
But congrats on the lovely SLQ!
i'd think it's more an au55 myself
All nice Type One SLQ's.
I have looked at Jom's website thru his
Link here at PCGS - just find one of his posts
and the Link is attached - all really nice coins.
Broadstruck, that's one of the better struck 17-S's
I have viewed. Full Head, Full Vertical & Full Horizontal
Lines on the inner shield, saying nothing of the FN either...

Coin collecting is not a hobby, it's an obsession !

<< <i>Broadstruck: I think that is just an MS coin with cabinet friction...IMO...from what I can tell from the photo. There aren't really any circulation marks. I think it grades higher than the OPs.

Serious Nipple shot too!

OP- That is NICE! Love the color
Broadstruck- That thing is crushed in every sense of the word. All she needs is a mammogram.
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.

Agree...55
Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

jom, These are the type of AU58's that I like to purchase, as a MS coin with cabinet friction is a AU58.
However in the course of doing so between shows and the web for ever 1 I find I'm rejecting well over 150 other AU58 and AU58+'s.
At this rate it will most likely take me 25+ years to complete an AU64FH set.

<< <i>Holy Cow Boardstruck. You gotta be kidding me that that coin is AU58. That's an absolute beaut and the fullest nipple I've ever seen. Great full head. Shield lines. That coin has it all. Congrats!

Hello Justhavingfun, Many thanks... I'm not kidding as below is a quickly taken image of the full encapsulation.
I actually had a PCGS MS65FH 17-S TYI on hand when this AU58FH example arrived and the Gem BU had just a nipple-less fully rounded breast.
Looking forward to finally seeing your SLQ collection at Stacks-Bowers... Hopefully they are doing worthy descriptions to deem the catalog a reference for the series.
Anyway, yes, I am putting my whole collection up for sale, the #1 of all time for something like 8 or 10 years. Hall of Fame. Blah, blah, blah. But when I looked 'em over before sending them back to the states with Bowers, I thought the coins really, really were beauts, and beauts for their condition. I remember thinking that only one or two were overgraded, and not by much, while about a baker's dozen had a shot upgrading. Maybe count me a proud papa, but I think when you see the set, you'll agree.
At the last minute, in a separate safety deposit box, I found a beautiful 1917-S type 1 (speaking of coincidences) that I didn't remember having. But no regrets -- -- it's probably the nicest looker for the date I've ever seen with beautiful toning. Full nipple, but not as good as yours. That's the best nipple I've ever seen on a type 1, which is one of the places which wear down the fastest even with just cabinet friction. That's why I had trouble believing that was only AU 58.
I still have a few coins to find, but my son is going back to the states for me to search my safety deposit boxes there for them.
When the set goes up for sale, you'll also see what's possibly the finest error collection of Standing Liberties ever collected. There are surprisingly few Standing Liberty errors known, and I went after them avidly. Wait until you see my broadstruck MS67 full head (NGC). Oh what a dazzler. And while 10% off center coins usually leave me cold, the 10% off center SLQ I gave to Bowers was really, really enhanced by the error. Became a beautiful and interesting coin.
Good luck and goodbye from BAngkok, where I'm still ...
Just having fun (and lots of it)
