For the first time in over seven years, I won a coin on Teletrade

A few months ago I signed up for their "Mr Wantlist" service, as every once in a while they will have some clipped planchets come up for bid. This particular one went on the block a few weeks ago but must have missed the reserve. When I saw it come up again tonight I put in a modest bid and was surprised to find I won:

This one will get cracked and find a new home in my 7070 clipped type album.

Nice coin at a great price.
On a side note: how do you get the Teletrade photo to show clearly yet large, here?

    Congrats! Very nice.

I just won a lot too - I finally figured out how to win at a reasonable price (if, of course, the reserve is reasonable to start).

I linked directly to their picture, which is actually not a nice thing to do, I'll save it locally and change the link in the morning.

EDIT: now hosting the picture locally. image

Sorry I didn't see this question earlier. Dimes are available but scarce, I very seldom see them offered and even then they are usually in lower grades. Clipped Barber Quarters are extremely rare (I know of only two), and I've never seen nor heard of a clipped Barber Half.

As it happens another nice clipped 1900 dime was sold on eBay the week before this one, auction link here. That coin was raw but in about the same grade and with nicer surfaces (probably still cleaned at one time, though), and had a much smaller curved clip. It sold for about 20% more than the coin I won, so I definitely think I got a good deal.

You've got a clipped type album? That's very cool. I don't recall ever coming across one........

    Nice barber!
