What was the coin on Pawn Stars that sold for $34,000

I turned the show on and the "expert" said it was a $40,000 coin but I couldn't tell or hear what it was.

    Pretty sure it was an 1861 $20, I remember them teasing whether or not it was the Paquet reverse.

    1861-s $20 gold piece. Appraised to be at least MS63.

    I recall thinking that it was a very strong offer considering that the coin was raw........even with the 'expert's' opinion.

    I did not see the episode or the coin, but I have to wonder if the whole thing was orchestrated as a plot to sell the coin to some enterprising TV viewer.

    When this happens it makes me wonder if the cast talks to their appraisers before hand and offers them a percentage to low ball certain things they appraise so it can be bought from the seller for a cheaper price. Maybe the coin was an even higher grade..the camera doesn't show that kinda stuff.

    The coin looked to be a solid 64
    and Im sure the pawn guys thought so also.

    it was a $20. didnt get q good look at it either
