Does anyone here own Collector's Universe stock??

When I checked once before along time ago, I thought it was a couple of bucks a share. I recently just checked this past Friday's close, and noticed that it was $16 and some change a share!! And it looks like it pays a decent dividend!!

It was $6 share when Lebron James entered the NBA. I think it dipped below that when the market crashed in 2008, but it has
    recovered.

Great stock, solid dividend, have owned for a few years off and on.

  • I was not aware of the 7%+ dividend. I prefer dividends over growth so I'll take a look.

Thanks for pointing out the dividend, but I imagine that this would be cyclical.

owned it at 4 in 09 and sold between 7 and 9. have followed it since. this is a big week with an earnings release nd important conference call. on the surface, the dividend is excellent, but unsustainable.

they tend to run specials leading into quarter end. id bet we see something aggressive in june ahead of the fiscal year end too, backlog or no.

I'm sure there is a Analyst on the board. Is the dividend safe ?

revenue has actually decelerated each of the last three quarters.

a number of folks have stock based incentive comp, not unusual or necessarily a bad thing, but...

the same div has already been declared for next q. id be short here before long based on revenue...the majority of which still comes from coins

I owned it for a bit. Made a decent return with the div. what scared me was the potential that the div would be cut. They were carrying a loss on a jewelry biz which helped them with taxes. However those losses could no longer be carried which would significantly reduce the amount free cash flow. I'm not making a prediction or trying to tell anyone what to do... But that was the reason why I sold my position. Since I sold a few months ago I have not really followed the stock. So I have no idea how they did the past quarter.
