I just got this 1909 VDB DDO FS-1102 cherrypick back from PCGS. Sent it in for Secure Plus grading and it came back PCGS MS66RD image Here's the Secure Plus images which have apparently improved a ton since I first sent coins in for Secure Plus:

    imageimage

Now I just have to decide whether to keep this new one, or just hang on to the PCGS MS64+RD that I already have in my collection...

Of course I'm leaning towards keeping this new higher grade example which seems to be a pop 11 coin with only 1 higher. We'll see image

Had this one for a while. The scratches across the Indian's eye, which are much less noticeable in hand, keep it from being worth more than my car, but for $9, I'm not complaining.

No pics, sorry. All your photo's of your varieties look great! This might be a question nobody really knows but what would one say, would be the most famous variety of all time? 55 double-die? or no?

Just got back from a local coin shop and happened to see a 1928-S Lincoln Cent that I would call an easy AU55/AU58. It's the FS-501 Large S variety so I thought that was cool and made it worth picking up.

Off the top of my head:

    1. 1945P DDR Jefferson nickels (two of them, one circulated and one mint state)
    2. 1943/2 D Jefferson Nickel (MS)
    3. 1951 Proof DDO Lincoln Cent
    4. 1951 Cameo Proof Tumor Variety Washington Quarter
    5. 1951 Proof DDR Franklin Half
    6. Multiple circulated Lincoln cents with cuds, laminations, die breaks (I guess these are not varieties) and minor doubling
    7. 1967 Clad MS DDO quarter
    8. 1966 SMS Cameo DDO Kennedy Half (two of them)
    9. 1798/7 Large Cent
    10. 1961 Proof DDR Franklin Half (the Big One and possibly a Cameo)
    11. 1964 Prooflike MS Roosevelt Dime (are Prooflike MS Coins a variety?)
    12. 1959 Prooflike MS Franklin Half (ditto?)
    13. Multiple Proofs from 1950-1970 with minor doubling.
    14. 1950 D/D MS Roosevelt Dime
    15. 1964 Accented Hair Proof Kennedy Half Dollars (4-5 of them)
    16. 1955 MS Bugs Bunny Franklin Half.
    17. 1917 Type 1 AU Standing Liberty Quarter
    18. 1830 Large Letter Half Dollar (EF)

I suspect there is more but I do not remember without looking.

Surprisingly, this die has more than its fair share of die polish lines which tells me that far cleaner examples might possibly exist. However, given a certain attrition level with 1977-D Kennedy's, they might not be out there. Time will tell though since this is a new listing for the CPG which should guide others into looking for it. My only other examples are an AU50 and an AU53 in ANACS plastic.

As a side note, there are also DDO-002 coins out there.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.
