Question about shipping

Good Afternoon everyone;

I had a question about shipping a coin. Sold a PCGS certifed CAC coin on ebay. Not an extremely valuable coin; but everything over a certain amount is sent with free shipping, signature confirmation, and insurance. There is a no return on this item. Tracking shows that the coin was out for delivery on Saturday, however as of today delivery status not updated. I believe that after three attempts, item is returned. How do other ebay sellers handle this type of situation? Appreciate any information, thanks Kay

If the Postal service returns it to you contact the buyer to see if they want a refund or reshipment. If it is not delivered your pretty well stuck by the eBay buyer protection take it out of the sellers hide policy. If you can not prove delivery eBay will freeze funds in your PayPal account and pay the buyer.

I assume you shipped UPS or Fedex, correct?
Usps does not attempt three times, they left a notice and wait 15 days before returning the package/envelope back to the sender.
If you receive the package back, follow LindeDad advice.

This happens to me often. USPS. It shows "out for delivery" and I don't get it for another 3 or 4 days.

I've been quietly blaming our carrier, figuring it was on the truck but he didn't want to take the time to get a signature.

Maybe it will show up. Hope so!

signature conf. is USPS, 3 delivery attempts is UPS/FedEx.

Here is USPS on delivery:
www.usps.com/redelivery or calling 800-ASK-USPS, or may pick up the item at the Post Office indicated on the notice. If this item is unclaimed after 15 days then it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later."



note:
This is from a package that was delivered April 18th. It still shows notice left. I doubt it will ever change to "delivered."

So, yours could just be improperly updated, too.

PS: I foud out it was delivered by contacting the buyer.

I refrain from asking ebay buyers if delivery was accomplished when tracking never updates. It tempts the dishonest ones to say no. Their feedback tells me it arrived.

This is the way I look at this type of situation. But about 3 months ago I had an insured package show delivery attepted and I contacted the buyer so if need be I could file the insurance claim. He said he thought he picked up all his coins but he would check. Never got back to me and never left feedback. Still bugs me

Call the post office where the item was sent to and ask them.
