With the new eBay + Paypal rules and restrictions, I think I may stop selling on ebay for a while. A

Ebay charges a fee to start the auction, charges a fee when the auction ends, requires you to use Paypal (which they own), or some other instant payment option.

Ebay will only allow you to post a grade if the coin is graded by PCGS or NGC, otherwise they cancel/delete the auction.

Paypal now holds your payments if you don't meet some of the Ebay requirements, regardless of your feedback....

I just makes me want to pursue other avenues for my coin sales.....

Don't take it so hard. They're just trying to make the marketplace safe for buyers (unless you're buying Rolexes, but that's another story). If sellers have a harder time of it these days, well, that's just the price to be paid.

Don't forget to mention that now you have to choose between no returns or 14 days returns. No more 3 days or 7 days.image

What is this ebay you speak of? I have done around 5000 transactions over the years and so far NONE this year. The last 3 things i went to look at were actually cheaper in the big box stores.

Their loss non existent. Your gains are naught.
Their gains go to pay pal where your gains get caught.
And if one pays a fair price from out of their store
But sells to compete, they're branded a whore.
They've got immoral misfits judging the lot

I really like how things are going on Great Collections. Have about $7000 worth of 2011 25th sets consigned there now. Only graded stuff or stuff you want to get graded though. Options are smaller for raw stuff.

Sometimes the fees and hassles are worth the exposure to millions of eyes. Sometimes not. Great you can choose.

I got burned out on eBay last year and went to Great Collections. One shipment
to them and fair fees, no trips to the post office, no bidder's questions, back feedback
or nothing. Really easy to work with.

You're not alone. I think we're seeing a resurgence of the smaller shows/conventions because ebay is less and less of an attractive option for the seller. I'm seeing this with other collectibles.

...and don't forget the eBay's informants on this forum who have now been given the ability to invalidate the sale of PCGS slabbed items!

One thing bothering me is the uploaded tracking numbers percentage. In the past I have sold large bulky items that were picked up. If I don't ship it at all how can I upload a tracking number?

Say I do only 5 sales a month on a slow month but one is picked up ? Only 80% of my sales get tracking numbers there goes my discount. Plus have you noticed how the discount evaluations work? If you roll off the program somehow it takes 3 months to get back on even if you only have 1 down month.
  • I haven't sold on ebay in over a year.

Fees are too high, risks are too high

I think the people running ebay are high.
