What caused the oddness in the 7 on this 1957 P Lincoln Cent

As I was practicing my photo skills, I came across this 1957 P Lincoln cent with some oddness around the 7. What might cause this?

I believe like the "1" it is pmd--something has struck both numbers.

    Counting machine damage?

The cause of the 1 and the 7 look different to me. The 1 looks like a plain old hit. The 7 looks like extra material. Die brake in the seven?
