Just bought this today - mislabled. the 2x2 is from ~60's and note the non politically correct markings lol

UNC's in the holder are around $100 - I think $2 was a deal

How cool is this--I was searching through my Krause catalogs and couldn't find this particular coin. I opened up your blog and lo and behold there it was. Went to my Krause and found out I already had one. This one is in xf and has 7 die breaks on one side. Would love to show you a picture but haven't figured out how to do it yet.

The obverse is nice and bright - the reverse is dark and lacking luster. I'm feeling this coin would grade anywhere from xf-Unc....But I don't see any wear.

Is this one really going to go for $100? I thought this one was fairly common. Perhaps I am missing something.

I couldn't find any on ebay. Can you point me to one? i am having a hard time believing that such a common coin would go for so much.

OK, I found an NGC AU 55 for $30.00.

I found one for sale for $99.00 OBO, un-slabbed. Seller claims its UNC but its damaged and looks chemically cleaned.

I found an NGC MS 63 on sale for 300.00+ OBO.

I think there are people trying to sell these for more than $100 but I don't know how many are actually going for that much. The examples I found were not even auctions so the prices were simply set by the sellers. I would be interested if there was an actual auction where the bidding went that high.

Some of those are in problem-free holders, and look like they've been scrubbed with brillo. How come NGC does that for these, but if my coins have a single brushmark on them, they get BB'd?
