Anyone On CU Board Self Publish A Book Before?

I know we have some amazing folks on the CU board and wanted to see if anyone has self-published a book before? I am working on my NASCAR trading card book and wanted to see if anyone self-published and how they like it?

I think a better alternative is a website, they're very simple to create these days and far less expensive and time consuming. Here's my website: www.fatdaddyssports.com.
Good Call !! Congrats on the website

I hoped to get a few questions answered. Would an e-book be a better way to go? Who would you choose to do the book forward? Who is the best self-book publisher to use? What to price the book at?
Read the one review if you care to.

His latest book was very well done, and is probably the best book ever written on the subject. Link
I doubt it has sold 5k copies. Marketing a self-published book can be very costly and time consuming.
The actual printing of the book was done by a Canadian company. I don't remember their name. PM me if you want details.
Printing a book with lots of photos and quality paper can also be very costly.
From what I've seen of the process, I don't advise self-publishing.
I think e-books are a great way to go these days. You eliminate many up front costs (including storage).

print on demand. If you are set on publishing a book, it is the way to go. Adam Warshaw's boxing card book is distributed via lulu print on demand. There are other print on demand sites, so you have options.
I was very happy with the publisher and the help I was given. My motivation wasn't to make any money, though. I did it just to do it.
I mean, how many people do you know who say, "I'm going to write a book someday!", and never do it? Of course!
That's all the motivation that I needed.
From her Wikipedia page:
...she wrote novels in her spare time. In April 2010, she began self-publishing them as e-books. By March 2011, she had sold over a million copies of nine books and earned two million dollars from sales, something previously unheard of for self-published authors. In early 2011, she averaged 9,000 book sales each day.
