Ebay & Paypal question

Do you need a Paypal account to use eBay?

What other forms of payments does eBay accept beside Paypal?

Thanks for the help!

Sellers can accept other forms of payment, but usually don't like to.

Short answer is, yes, if you plan on doing any amount of business on eBay, you will be better off with a PayPal account.

    Good luck!

  • Many are getting fed up with ebay. I recently began listing all my item on the new Unisquare Auction Site.

Simple with low fees and a good alternative to feebay. You might want to check it out.

I don't have a PayPal account and don't want one. It tends to cause me problems in buying some items I want off eBay. For the most part sellers are not allowed by eBay to adverise that they accept other forms of payment. I usually send a question to the seller and ask if they accept other forms of payment. One time I got a flat no back from the seller and one other time I bid anyway, and sent him a message due to time remaining on the auction, and he removed my bids. Other than those two time I have never had a problem. Once a kind person off the Forum used there PayPal account to get an item for me. Of course you could wear thin on this one.

No, you do not need a Paypal account to sell on ebay...the problem is, there are so many scam artists out there, that if you are buying something, as a buyer, I feel better paying by paypal. That being said, as a seller, because there are so many scam buyers out there, I HATE taking paypal, but if you advertise you take something else, like a check or MO, ebay will probably take your auction down from what I hear
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY
  • i've been using sportlots auctions for about 6 months. IMO they have the second most traffic of any sports card site behind ebay. Their fees are really cheap too and they will send you a check with your profits.
