    That makes up for my box. My net return was around -120. I have terrible rip luck. At least I seem to have the urge to rip new product out of my system for a while. It takes for me to do a box like that about once a year to realize I always personally lose with modern unopened. Glad to read you scored!

    Can't buy boxes and expect to gain money. Can't buy cases and always expect to make money. But if you buy cases and grade out the Base stars, HOF's, Auto's, low #D, then you put yourself in a big position of strength to make money. There is no other way to do it. It's always a gamble, this minimizes the risk. Usually you can break even on a case if you sell everything out, sometimes you score big! But grading using both companies makes all the difference.

    Any unopened Baseball cello and rack packs and boxes from the 1970's and early 1980s.

    There doesn't really seem to be a market for these types of cards in a graded slab. Am I wrong?

    Jeff you are somewhat correct.

    I like grading these cards BC I realize much bigger prices than the same in raw form. Plus buyers will pay more for Pop 1's.

    I track them quite a bit. Low serial #D, HOF's, Stars, and Rookies bring more money when slabbed at 9.5's, and 10's.

    I feel like I impact the market a bit as I put out a lot of Pop 1's.

    Edit: the question is would a buyer rather buy the card raw, or buy it in a BGS 9.5 or PSA 10 slab from IMO the best seller on the Bay.

    In all seriousness, I was hoping to turn a profit on the box but knew going in the odds were I would not make money. Opening a case sure would be fun, but it would probably tear up my stomach trying that (agreed-- huge risk/huge reward). What I lost is not life altering and I had a little fun along the way. Good to see though someone beat the odds on a box!
