Break Up or Sell As A Group

I have a long-time friend who spent his childhood going to canton, Cooperstown, hanging out at
hotels to meet visiting team baseball and football players TI get signed cards from them during the
70s and early 80s.

He recently had a life-changing experience and decided that making some of his family's wish list a
reality was a bigger priority than keeping these cards. Having been out of the memorabilia arena for almost 30 years he approached me to
find out the best way to sell-off such a collection.

I'm not that up on autographed cards so I thought I'd ask for ideas here. He's got around 900 or so
baseball cards autographed in sharpie, not authenticated plus around 2500 football cards the same.

I went thru the BB cards and found cards from 1958 through the early 80s. Players include major HOFers,
some in multiples, plus lots of semi-stars and commons as well.

Not sure if they should be sold as groups (BB and FB) or separately. Not sure if they really need to be
authenticated as the quantity and quality are obviously signs of a childhood passion long since abandoned.
And I have known this person for 30 years and he is 100% straight.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Dave

I would absolutely create an excel list, link it to google docs and then try to sell here before going another route. You'll get best value. Sort into Stars / Semi-stars and commons. Is there a partial set from any particular year? If so, I may be interested.

Is it Larry Fritsch? Weren't you the one with the inside track to all of their unopened stash?
