'51 Mantle up for sale - Legit ?

Mantle
I don't see ANYTHING in the sellers feedback indicating he has bought, or sold, cards in the past.
Typically, I'll ask if I can pick up the card in person with a certified check. Either at their bank, etc. If they decline, then I tend to think it's not legit.

I've found that when it comes to Mantles commanding a strong price for their grade (and being easily sold if need be), the market tends to favor (A) cleanliness of Mick's image and (B) centering. Those two attributes really can set an example apart from others in its numerical grade tier.
Comparing the two, spending 10K+ on the PSA 7 seems like a bad buy, when you can have a strong 5 or 6 plus another great card. Clean image and centering over sharp corners all day. Those two criteria hit the eyes right off the bat, determining eye appeal and thus price/resale-ability to a great extent.

Thanks for the input, but not worth the risk to me.

As I previously posted, I inquired about paying for the card, and picking it up, in person, with a certified/bank check.
Instead of responding, they canceled my bid and blocked me from bidding on their items, including their baby clothes
I have 100% feedback with some higher dollar items so there is no reason to block me.
Definitely makes me think it's a scam/fraud

Police Station or Financial Institution. I'm sure others have done it. Does PayPal even cover a 10K transaction ? I don't do PayPal for
anything over $1500.

I can tell you if you came on hot and heavy with me about meeting in person with a check for anything over $1,500, i might block you myself. There's a thing called paypal buyer's protection. The buyer is completely in the driver's seat. You don't like the card, return it for some reason. You're ALWAYS protected. And the backstop is your cc company, which assuming you pay your bills on time would side with you so long as you return the card (and can prove it).
This WARNING WARNING stuff is a bit melodramatic. BTW, this 7 has a bulls eye right on the Mick's face, so I'd avoid it for that reason alone.
This link could be out of date, but as far as I know, $2,000 is the limit and CC covers remainder
I've successfully paid in person, and I've successfully used Escrow.com. I'd say half the people balk, and then I do not pursue.

Paypal coverage This is a thread over in the Coin Forum right now.

From the PP user agreement:
13.4 Coverage Amount. If you are eligible for PayPal Purchase Protection and PayPal finds in your favor on your Claim, PayPal will reimburse you for the full purchase price of the item and original shipping costs – with no cap on coverage.
PayPal will not reimburse you for the return shipping costs that you incur to return a Significantly Not As Described item to the Seller or other party specified by PayPal. If the Seller presents evidence that they delivered the goods to your address, PayPal may find in favor of the Seller for an Item Not Received claim even if you did not receive the goods.

Escrow.com works well, too, but why not at least earn some miles/cash back on your cc?
