Absurd eBay occurence

I have just encountered one of the most absurd things I have ever seen on eBay.

On April 1, someone with a 1 feedback purchased two cards for me. They proceeded to never pay, I opened cases, and then later closed them to get my FVF credit.

Today, I relisted the two cards the buyer never paid for. Within an hour, THE SAME PERSON BOUGHT ONE OF THE CARDS AGAIN with a NEW account! The shipping address for the two separate accounts is identical!!!

Why?

    Well, he's a persistent deadbeat.
  • Maybe the buyer is hoping you'll send one of the cards for free?

That's weird and I've never heard of that happening before.
Maybe the buyer is trying to buy again from you so they can
drill your DSR's as payback for filing a NPBA on them.

Turn them into ebay for seller abuse. If they have the same address and
you blocked their one id, I'm sure ebay will let you get your fees back
again and block this nuts second ebay id.
  • Dependent on the cards, they could be new eBay users that were trying to figure out the Paypal system......it can take a little while at times. If they paid for the items, I'd send the cards. Communication would be important in this one. Good luck!

I wish we could still block ebay buyers with feedback under 10. I think we can only block 0 or less now? (which doesn't even make sense since you can't leave negative feedback for deadbeat buyers, how do you even get less than 0??)

Anyway, I had a guy the other day hit the BIN on an item I was selling. Then I received the following string of messages:

Message 1 - please cancel my order
Message 2 - how do I pay for my order?

    **Paypal payment received**

Message 3 - please cancel my order

At this point I wake up in the morning and am trying to figure out WTF so I send him an email asking whether he wants it or not.

Message 4 - ok, ok, I take it
Message 5 - No, no! I mean NO want, cancel

    F***ing ebay noobs.

The original account bought 65 items and received three feedback--one saying that he paid, the other two saying that he never paid. The account is still active, probably because most of the sellers did not open cases.

The new account has bought two items--mine and one other one. He also made an offer on the second item of mine he bought originally!

eBay is going to get a call this morning, even though it probably will do no good at all.

I honestly wish we could set it for any feedback.

Right now, honestly, whats the difference between a -2 and 2? On expensive items, I would set it for less than 50 FB. I would be losing customers, sure, but honestly, if you have 50 FB you probably will pay

Could we get both IDs so we can add them to our BBL? Thanks!

Got an American girl on the phone at eBay. She agreed it was ridiculous, but, surprise surprise, there is nothing she can do except put in a request for someone to check the two accounts out. Now the item is held up for another 7-10 days while I wait for payment, open a case, and close the case.

Does anyone have any idea what the buyer is trying to accomplish?

I will PM the eBay IDs to anyone interested in blocking them.

I have run into tons of buyers who have not paid recently. Some of them have actually had decent feedback, but for whatever reason they decided not to pay. I love it when someone haggles with me on the price of an item with best offer, then does not pay; they put the effort in, but decide to not pay for the item.

Once upon a time I had a zero feedback on ebay. Since then, I've spent many, many thousands of dollars on sports collectibles on ebay. If a seller blocked me when I had a zero feedback, I can guarantee you that I would make sure to never spend even one dollar with that seller when I 'qualified'.

I called eBay a second time yesterday to test my luck, and it turned out much better. The CS rep agreed that there is something afoot--the technical eBay term is "intent to disrupt." He filled out a report, then transferred me to Trust and Safety to explain the situation. The person there said it would take 24-48 hours for someone to look into it, and that the buyer and all of his accounts will probably be removed from eBay.

    IN THE MEANTIME...

Yesterday, the people from eBay told me to block the two accounts this person has so that they can't buy anything else from me. This morning, I sign in to eBay to find that the SAME PERSON used a THIRD account to buy the second item they had bought from me the first time around!

I don't understand what this person is trying to accomplish!?!

Whats not to understand, they are screwing with you and they intend to interfer with your auctions... Why, who the heck knows it is eBay.
  • That has to be one bored person. You should feel happy image, not many people has an ebay stalker.

I'm proud to report that all three of this buyer's accounts have finally been deep-sixed by eBay.

I had a ZERO feedback at one time too, but back then, if you didnt pay, you got negged, back then, there wasnt the scam artists, both buyers and sellers, back then the fees and regulations were not what they are now. I can guarantee that 999 out of 1000 people do not even look at whether or not they were blocked when they were a zero FB person. Plus, if youre a seller, I can also guarantee, you would understand. But thats just me...good luck to your way.
