Major Glut:April/May 2012 High Quality Auctions

Looks like we are about to hit a period in which many of the major auction houses are going to be putting up some HIGHLY desirable
lots. Consider that between now and the end of May we are going to see:
1) The Annual Robert Edwards auction - Highlighting the T206 Wagner, Cobb Tobacco Can, Sporting News Ruth, T206 Plank, 33G Lajoie PSA 9, etc.
2) The SCP Auction - Highlighting the Dmitri Young PSA 10s, Ruth 1930 Game-worn cap, 1920 Ruth Jersey, 1968 Mantle Jersey, etc.
3) Memory Lane - T206 Wagner, T206 Plank, 33G Ruth #181 PSA 8, 52 Topps Mantle PSA 5, Jordan Fleer RC PSA 10, etc.
4) Legendary Auctions - awaiting details
5) Mile High - awaiting details
6) Goddwin - T206 Auction including Piedmont Wagner and Plank
and still a few more that I haven't even mentioned yet.
With such high quality items being offered all at roughly the same time do you think there is enough resources out there to consume all of it
at premium prices, or do you expect that there are going to be some real buying opportunities?
It may be wishful thinking on my part, but with some many big ticket 1-of-a-kind/rare items all coming available at once could other items get
lost in the commotion and go for far less than normal?
Any thoughts?

What it does often do is cause a lot of stuff to be sold after these auctions as auction winners look to replace funds by either breaking up lots or selling off other items they no longer want.

+1 Been saying that for awhile, I agree with you!
Thanks Dave for that info, I tend to think like you. I think there will be some deals to be had, but with the market the way that it is, and the recent stock market decline, I can see people buying even more in hard assets IE: collectibles.
On the other hand I agree with what Griffins said. There are some serious auctions coming up. These Auction houses will surely see some record sales numbers, and with that people will be selling off I would think to replenish some funds. Heck I may need to too!
