  • Swindled $712k from a "friend"... Doesn't like he this guy was much of a friend to him.

I remember seeing a documentary on someone who was so good at faking documents that until he started screwing up because of drugs/needing money so much all the previous were considered museum quality and ultra rare examples and not a single had been called fake.... and he got away with millions of $ until he got caught.

Reminds me of a guy on ebay who was selling fake autographs. I don't know what ever happened to him, but he was selling rare autos, Honus Wagner, Ty Cobb, etc. It was funny, he had a feedback of like 3 and all of a sudden started selling these things. He was posting them daily on a three or five day auction. But when you looked at his first feedback it was for a buy he made on the bay. He had bought a very old journal from a guy. This journal was dated back in the early 1900's. You could see what he was doing. He ripped the extra pages out of the back of his journal so his fake autos would be on the correct type paper from that time. He had Ruth, Gehrig, Hornsby, some old football players and actors, etc. All the evidence was right there; all of his autos were on that same old brown 1900-1910 paper. I guess there is always a scammer willing to rip us off, to lie, cheat, and steal. I certainly hope this "poster child" gets some serious time.
