    I don't want to give away all the secrets, but the baseball on the back doesn't look right.

    Why would you not want to get information out that would help people learn how to spot fake cards?

    To help counterfeiters know what to look for?

    a well centered Mantle should have a full board on the back....to the left of the 311 baseball , the RED section goes all the way to the edge...
    it supposed to have a board....

    A real 52 mantle with gray/red boarder back

    also, on the front in the Mickey mantle signature box, typically, you will see the yellow bleed outside the black board with stars

    I have never understood that mindset. If they are going to counterfeit then they are going to know what to look for and what to reproduce. If more people know what to look for and what are the tells of a fake card then it would be better for consumers and harder for card doctors.
    More information, not less, is always better.

    The card pictured doesn't appear to be a fake, but it does appear to be altered. The top border looks trimmed, the top left corner looks re-inked, and the crease coming down through his cap looks pressed out and recolored.

    I'd say it's altered, authentic

    So this mantle is not centered on the back......that alone does not make it a fake.....image
